Character Assassination

“That girl is not good for you. She is a flirt who goes around with guys. She is a gold digger.”
“That boy is a flirt. He is not a decent guy. He is not a good match for you.”
How many of us and how many times have we heard this stuff from different people around us? They can be friends, neighbors and many a time, the good old relatives. I wonder as to how they conclude on any such view he/she has about a person. And soon it becomes a judgment for them, i.e. framed up in their head about the person (judged).
I have heard a lot of this kind through my life. I am amazed and at the same time, surprised when people come up to me with these kinds of views about people around me. And at times even about my friends whom I have a good relation with. I do hardly agree to such perceived notion of the people, who convert their views to judgments and live with it. They don’t mind to share the views with their peers (include every other person they meet), also convince them to believe the same. I am fine if they have their own views or rather share it with me, but when it goes around or is passed on to others, I hate it to the core b’coz that’s a bad practice. This at times creates a pre-conceived notion about a person, and people may deter from knowing the person face to face.
Bloody S***!
I would like to ask them, who are they to have their views seen as a judgment, for others and think the others to believe it to be true. No matter they have their own ways to prove the same. They are no leaders/authority passing out any Character Certificate to individuals. Let everyone have their own views regarding any individual, as no two persons can have a single outlook to any individual unless they are driven by one single thought (shared).
I always believed that one should know the person to know the person, rather know the person without knowing the person. I deter to take such views regarding any person. They might see the glass half empty, and I see it half full. Both might be on same page however I am not going to buy their thought and have the same perceived notion regarding the person. Am lucky, am not driven by others thoughts. Let me decide on my own experience.

hmm..agreed..

well, it's a human tendency to pass on unrequired, unessential, unasked comments, opinions, judgements about others intentionally or unintentionally..some do it out of habit, some do it for a time pass, some do it just for enjoyment, some may do it on a lighter note playing a prank...basically, the one who has lot of leisure time plus the one who likes gossiping will be ever ready to engage into such kind of talks and share their useless, worthless thoughts...

ultimately, as you said, let me decide on my own experience so it's up to an individual, up to us to decide what the person is, how the person is, what character he/she possess..

we, anyway, are not morons to believe and accept anything that comes our way...we have our own wisdom to decide and no one will or can force anyone to believe in anyone's judgement until one oneself allows to accept and believe in the thoughts of the person who passes the judgement..
